Excerpts

“The sunset hung in the sky, casting a warm orange light over the garden. As the sun gradually sank, the orange and red light reflected onto the yellow and white of daisies and they changed, becoming brilliantly colored. The light shined into Lisa’s heart warmly. That sunset became the most beautiful scenery in Lisa’s memory.”

“There is more than one kind of true love. Your father and I understand and help each other. Love can make us forget the time, but time can’t make us forget love. We have been through the journey of life together.”

“tolerance brings joy into one’s life. If we are all tolerant of one another, we can lean on one another for love and support.”

“The soft light of the moon poured down, embellishing the trees and flowers in mottled colors. The moonlight stretched their shadows slowly and started to blend them, turning into a heart.”

“a grateful heart is a seed of peace. If you have it within you, you can live in a world full of grace.”

Award-winning artist, Zimei, drops her highly anticipated book “The tale of two kingdoms”

Official OnlineBookClub.org Review

“The Tale of Two Kingdoms by Zimei is a fast-paced book that centers on two rabbit kingdoms known as Dwarf Hotot and Holland Lop. Their unique attributes differentiated rabbits of both kingdoms. Despite their differences, they lived in absolute unity. However, this peace came to a halt when the kings of both kingdoms, Jack and Oliver, fell in love with the fairest rabbit (Nyla) in the Dwarf Hotot Kingdom.

The conflict between both kings affected everyone in their kingdom as they could not play, make friends, and marry one another like they used to do. A rabbit of pure heart appears to be the only one that can restore peace and harmony between both kingdoms. Will she succeed?

“As I read this book, I couldn’t help but appreciate most parts of it. The way the author narrated the story of these rabbits was realistic. It seemed like she was writing about humans, as these rabbits had similar qualities with them.”

“The writing style employed by the author was free from any form of ambiguity and verbosity, and this was what I loved most in this book. This is so because it made me appreciate the book well. Also, this factor makes it possible for readers of any age that enjoys animal-related books to be fascinated by it, and I recommend it to them.”

“I always look forward to gaining knowledge and adopting lessons in books I read. Thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed with this book. From The Tale of Two Kingdoms, I got to know about certain qualities rabbits have. Also, I learned, from another perspective, the joy of forgiving someone who has hurt one deeply.”

The Tale Of Two Kingdoms by Zimei Gao is set in a small town and tells the story of all the rabbits who live in a garden owned by Lady Mei, a popular woman with a kind heart and a love of nature. Oliver was King of the Holland Lop rabbits and Jack was King of the Dwarf Hotot rabbits. Both kings fell in love with Nyla, a beautiful, friendly, caring, and gentle rabbit. King Jack married Nyla and enraged King Oliver. John served as the high general to protect King Oliver who commanded John to declare war on the Dwarf Hotot Kingdom so that he could take Nyla for his bride. King Oliver lost the battle and decided to kidnap Nyla just as she went into labor. One of her babies fell to the ground but was helped by Lady Mei who named the kit Lisa and took her to rabbit Lucy for fostering. Nyla had four more babies while King Oliver kept her prisoner until King Jack rescued Nyla and took her home. Shortly thereafter the Dwarf Hotot Kingdom was struck by tragedy. When Lisa finally met her father, King Jack, she was welcomed and loved but missed King Oliver and made it her mission to reconcile the two kings.

The Tale Of Two Kingdoms is a delightful story for children but can also be appreciated by adults. Author Zimei Gao captures the personalities and characteristics of the rabbits in the two different kingdoms, bringing them all to life. The garden is beautifully described, including the animals, plants, and kingdoms. The photos of the rabbits at the end of the book add a unique dimension to the story. I especially enjoyed the message of unconditional love, forgiveness, and reconciliation and commend the author for including these valuable life lessons in a children’s story. In addition, the author also teaches about adoption and foster care while sharing the importance of caring for animals. All round, a fantastic novel, well written, and an absolute pleasure to read. Highly recommended to children of all ages.
